This is your introduction to the technical, historical, and aesthetic context of decorative and functional tiles and mosaics. You will use press molds in combination with other mosaic materials, including glass, to create finished pieces. The emphasis will be on design, pattern, construction, and finished presentation.

Your instructor will provide lots of useful information about historical and contemporary mosaic works, along with where to source materials and specialized tools, for your specific projects.

  • • The studio fee includes the use of studio materials, glazing, and firing.
  • • Clay must be purchased in the school store. *
  • • A basic tool set can be purchased in the school store *
