Craft Coven: Ceramic Wall Alter

Using simple slab building techniques, join us to hand build your very own wall alter. Your instructor will give you a basic design to begin with, and the direction to make sure it can hang on a wall.
Nina (they/them) aka Neon Slime Mold is a queer Philly artist who creates handmade clothing and functional pottery. They enjoy experimenting with unusual forms, upcycled fabrics, and flashy colors and patterns. Their work explores queer, archetypal and playful motifs.
Nina Rajagopalan
Nina Rajagopalan (they/them) is a ceramic and fiber artist living in West Philadelphia. They have been a practicing ceramic artist for over a decade, creating figure and animal sculpture and functional wheel-thrown pottery. Nina also makes handmade clothing, often using reclaimed fabrics. They teach ceramics classes for adults and youth at several art centers throughout Philadelphia. In Nina’s own art practice, they explore archetypal and playful motifs, and they enjoy experimenting with unusual forms, flashy colors and bold patterns. Nina started participating in wood firings a couple of years ago and they are very excited to continue learning more about this fascinating form of ceramic production.
Cassie Jones
My Name is Cassie Jones. I am traditionally trained in many types of arts and continue to search for more skillsets and experiences with visual arts. I began my creative career working with leather under the brand CUSP by Cassie for many years before moving my sights into embroidery and embellishing. I now am continuing with the trend of fiber work while incorporating fired clay and mixing mediums into my practice. I am currently building a new collection to show in galleries, instructing classes through The Craft Coven, Fleisher Art Memorial, and Black Hound Clay Studio, and facilitating learning opportunities with visiting artists and instructors.
