Come and learn how the port grain elevator – the granary—truly an American invention, changed the world’s food landscape from local to global food distribution. The Teweles and Brandeis granary, now the Door County granary, was inspired by Czech immigrants who sought the American Dream. Learn the history and operations of the granary plus the connections to Door County’s growth, why it was important to save the building and plans for the future as a community cultural center. A tour of the granary will be included.
