In-Person | Registration opens 8/5/2026 9:00 AM CDT
On November 13, almost exactly 30 years ago to this day, David Dellis choked to death 15-year-old Michael Kasee during a fight in Green Bay. He moved the body to a farm in Southern Door where he cut it up using a chainsaw. He eluded capture for a week before being apprehended. The crime shocked northeast Wisconsin. For over five years we have researched this crime, visiting key sites across Wisconsin while conducting over 60 interviews, reviewing over a thousand pages of court and police records, utilizing numerous other sources including historical archives and genealogical records. We tell the story not only of the crime, but what lay behind it, tracing a path across generations from Green Bay, to Milwaukee, Chicago, all the way to the coal fields of eastern Kentucky at the beginning of the 20th Century. It is a trail of violence, broken families, drug abuse and fractures in the social welfare, mental health care and criminal justice systems.
