In-Person | Registration opens 1/7/2026 9:00 AM CST
In November 1996, David Dellis choked 15 year-old Michael Kasee to death during a fight in Green Bay. He moved the body to a farm in Southern Door where he cut it up using a chainsaw. He eluded capture for a week before being apprehended. The crime shocked northeast Wisconsin. For over four years we have researched the crime, using interviews, official records from the court, the police and multiple state agencies in Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as numerous other sources. We tell the story behind the crime, tracing a path across generations from Green Bay, to Milwaukee, Chicago, all the way to the coal fields of eastern Kentucky at the beginning of the 20th Century. It is a trail of violence, broken families, drug abuse and fractures in the social welfare, mental health care and criminal justice systems.
