Love and death have been favorite topics of great poets for the past thousand years. This class will discuss some of the most famous of those poems, in the context of the life and times of the authors. The poems discussed range from Medieval ballads and Shakespearian sonnets to brilliant short poems by modern poets including Dylan Thomas and Mary Oliver. Harp music accompanies some of the poems.
