093 Nature's Influence on Music: From Birdsong to Symphony
In-Person | Registration opens 1/7/2026 9:00 AM CST
From the call of a bird to the sweep of the seasons, composers across centuries have turned to nature for inspiration. This two-session course explores the relationship between the natural world and music, with listening examples, multimedia illustrations, and lively discussion. We will trace how composers have represented landscapes, animals, weather, and the environment in their works, and how these connections remain relevant today. Participants will discover new ways to listen to both music and the world around them.
