Experience the ins and outs of painting/ sketching/ drawing on-site in and around Sturgeon Bay-East side, West side, The Garden Door and Horseshoe Bay Farms will be our gathering sites. Please bring your own mark-making materials/ art supplies, a chair or easel, and be on time! That way we can start right away turning scenery into art! We’ll draw/ paint for about an hour and 45 minutes (or two), then gather to talk about how we did, what was successful, and share what was learned from making art happen outside a studio. The “instructors” will be on hand to assist you, but these sessions are interactive with all participants and are sometimes weather dependent. We will keep in touch via email during the weeks of the sessions for updates on possible time changes or weather work arounds. It’s fun and a whole new way of seeing things. A list, printable and illustrated, of outdoor painting tips and equipment will be emailed to everyone who signs up. At the first session we will talk about some history of plein air, how it’s been used historically and how you can incorporate it into your artful life.
