Go behind the scenes and discover how museum exhibits are brought to life. This course guides students through the process of research, storytelling, design, and fabrication-showing how each step shapes an engaging visitor experience. You’ll explore narrative development, layout, artifact selection, lighting, and interpretive text, with the rare chance to see exhibits in progress at the Door County Museum in Sturgeon Bay. Instructor, Joe Taylor, manager of the Door County Museum and co-founder of Taylor Studios, Inc., brings over 35 years of experience designing exhibits for institutions such as the Smithsonian, Field Museum, National Park Service, and National WWII Museum.
