This class will explore contemporary, approachable poetry by local and nationally known poets. We will share the reading of poems that address nature, social justice, and emotions to name a few examples. The 2^nd session will focus on poetic forms with examples of many contemporary forms such as haiku, sonnets, abecedarian, and many others. Carrie and Peter will share their knowledge as well as reference websites, podcasts, and books so that class members can pursue further learning on their own. Poetry really can be fun! This class has been presented a couple of times in the past, but the poems and examples change each time. Some participants have taken the class more than once and enjoyed it.
