The session will begin with introductions and a brief overview of the presenter’s understanding/ definition of what constitutes assessment and some possible means to demonstrate an understanding/ mastery of a skill. This will be followed by two (2) exercises involving assessment of understanding material from a brief reading and a large group sharing of individual demonstrations learning. The second half of the session will involve questions, answers, and discussions of the proper use of tests of various kinds.
