009 The Art of Critique
In-Person | Registration opens 8/6/2025 9:00 AM CDT
Taking place in the main gallery at Miller Art Museum, participants will learn the art of critique. The event will begin with an open discussion about the purpose of critique and why it is important. Participants will discuss how we look at art and what we want from art when we look at it in order to develop a more meaningful experience with artwork we may not understand. The curator will present a series of questions on a handout that each of the participants can use as a guide to ask themselves while they look at an artwork to practice critical thinking to evaluate an artwork. The participants will be able to share and discuss their various perspectives with the group. Exhibition: 50th Juried Annual Exhibition | Artists from Across Wisconsin
