We will use the widely available and inexpensive medium of paper to learn this weave to fabricate a basket.  Originally used in northern European countries with birchbark, the technique can be adapted to a variety of materials to utilize this sturdy weave.

Participants will be given hands-on instruction, material to make a simple basket, and a pattern to follow in class and for future projects.  And ideas for non-traditional materials… 

Once you get your head around it and your fingers warmed up, it’s really fun!
