075 Paper Basket Weaving-Advanced
In-Person | Registration opens 1/8/2025 9:00 AM CST
Expand your paper weaving skills by creating a more advanced basket out of beautifully painted paper. In the first session you will be painting your paper using a variety of acrylic paints. The other two sessions will be devoted to weaving paper into a flat-backed basket with a handle long enough to hang over a doorknob or on a wall. Must have taken Paper Basket Weaving class through LIR previously to take this class. This class is not suitable for new weavers. All necessary materials are provided; however, baskets can be decorated with beads provided by the participant. Contact presenter at bayshorebaskets@yahoo.com prior to the class for information on bead sizes and quantities, which will be discussed during the first class.
NOTE: YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE FIRST CLASS IF YOU WISH TO CONTINUE.
First class: Wear old clothes. Bring stamps, sponges, or special brushes if you like; paint and basic brushes will be provided. You will be painting your own paper for your basket, and it can get messy!
Second and third classes: bring a pencil, ruler, or tape measure (measure up to 6 inches), and sharp scissors for paper. Paper, floss, and other tools will be provided. With your $25.00 fee you will paint enough paper for 2 baskets although we will focus on completing one in class.
