Discover how an opera is prepared from start to finish, with the use of film footage on DVD of rehearsal material of one of the most challenging operas to present.  La Forza del Destino (The Force of Destiny) requires our temporary suspension of disbelief since the plot is so very convoluted.  No matter; it’s a tragedy with absolutely sublime melodies!  First, we will go behind the scenes to learn exactly what’s involved in presenting an opera from stagecraft to lighting to costumes to music.  Then we’ll watch the finished product and discuss act by act this whirlwind story that has won Verdi great accolades for over a century.  This program is presented by MUSE, the new music education and performance venue in downtown Sturgeon Bay.
