026 Crossroads: Nature and the Arts-Classical Music
In-Person | Registration opens 1/8/2025 9:00 AM CST
From Hildgard von Bingen to John Adams, composers have been inspired by nature. Edvard Grieg wrote: “Face to face with nature, I stood in silent reverence and awe…” Certainly, I love science’s urge to clarify. But the mystical attracts me, nonetheless. In this class, we will listen to selections in which composers portray the mystical aspects of nature, and then, give into the “scientists’ urge to clarify.”
