There is more to birding than watching.  Bird listening is often more productive during spring migration….  but it tends to be difficult and confusing.  But now, the Merlin Sound ID, an app (powered by Cornell University’s eBird project) will “listen and record” birdsongs and suggest, in real time, what bird species is singing.  This amazing app both alerts birders to the presence of hidden birds and it helps verify the identity of the birds you see and hear.  This class begins indoors with simple instructions, but the group will venture outdoors to experience Birding with Merlin.  Participants should load the free Merlin app on their cell phones before coming to the class.
