003 A Novel Approach
In-Person | Available (Membership Required)
What makes a great story that keeps readers turning pages well into the night? This lecture will teach writers to create a story that is well-written, solidly structured, and a page-turner. We will explore how to create interesting characters that readers will root for and against; how to show versus tell, and why you need to do both; how to relay information without losing the reader’s interest; and how to set hooks that will keep your readers excited to learn what happens next. Finally, we will demonstrate simple, low-tech tools and structural techniques to save yourself months, or even years, of effort.
