Basic Bookbinding
A hand-bound book is a treasure to hold. Come learn the basics of bookbinding while sewing gathered sheets of paper on linen tapes and making a cover in a traditional style with cloth and decorative paper. The completed book can be used as a journal or sketch book.
Bill Minter is a senior conservator at the Penn State University Library, joining the program in 2014. With over 40 years of experience in fine bookbinding and conservation, Bill is a leader in manuscript preservation, conservation and rare books.
