In this two day workshop, you will learn some basics of bookbinding, while creating
your own, individually embellished mixed media journal. If you are a print maker or
painter, this is your golden opportunity to use up some of those neglected or ‘reject’
prints/paintings in the construction of the book. If you are NOT a printer-painter, don’t
worry, there will be plenty of colorful papers provided to embellish your journal.

Once you learn the basics that we will cover in class, you will be able to replicate the
process, creating your own “variations”.

All materials will be provided.  


Lisa is primarily a bookbinder, but one who creates many of her own papers for use in the books that she makes.

The printing techniques that she uses in her work include gelli plate prints, watercolor botanical prints, eco-printing, lino cut and collagraph printing.

She has taken numerous classes in bookbinding and print making in both the U.S. and abroad.

Lisa has a small bindery in State College where she works and offers individual instruction in book binding.
