Digital Illustration is an amazing achievement of the 20th and 21st centuries, and it is here to stay! A majority of professional art and animation studios expect their employees to be proficient in digital art, due to how quickly artists can complete pieces digitally, and how cost-effective it is. In my class, there will be no need for expensive materials. As long as you have a drawing tablet and an art program, you can learn to draw digitally!

This course is for absolute beginners (teens are welcome!) in both the fundamentals of art, as well as digital art. We will be covering aspects of digital art such as learning to use digital references, learning to use 3-D models, understanding how to use digital paint brushes, as well as the basics of drawing, such as how to draw a human face, basic anatomy in art, how to add dynamic backgrounds, and so on.

  • Students will need to bring to class a laptop with an attached drawing tablet, a Wacom Cintiq, iPad Pro, or equivalent tablet with an art program like Photoshop, ProCreate, PaintTool SAI, Gimp, Clip Studio, etc. installed.
