The workshop will begin with drawing warm-ups in pencil with a rapid understanding of the figure and layout. This will be followed by a series of small paintings in black and white and color, with critiques at each stage. The afternoon will be spent working on a large canvas. Students can expect a follow up critique of their finished painting within a month. 

  • Participants should bring a sample of their work to the workshop.
  • The instructor will provide: paper and pencils, all canvases, and images.

    Participants should bring a sample of their work and the following supplies: oil or acrylic paints, brushes, and palette.

    Colors needed: red medium, cadmium yellow medium, zinc lemon yellow, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, basic green, black, and lots of white.
