A 4-day, 2-weekend workshop in which students will create a pamphlet stitch book with folded accordion spine and hard cover. Using printed and unprinted papers, students will create a personalized handbound book with pamphlet stitching. You will learn how to make pockets, folded inserts, and other treats to include in your book. In class, you will have time to construct and collage papers. When finished, your book will be a thick personalized journal, sketchbook, memory book, or “junk journal.” 

This book structure is easily personalized and designed according to your own desires. The accordion spine structure can expand, allowing you to add materials as you go. Pamphlet stitch is a versatile binding method – once learned, you can easily adapt it to multiple sizes and looks.
