Reduction Linocut: Afternoon Class

Adult Class | This program is completed

Learn reduction linocut printmaking, where all colors are printed from the same block, instead of a separate carved block per color. You will be shown several methods of creating color prints and create two color reduction prints. You will make your own registration jig and learn how to edition a print run. Throughout the course you will be supported with weekly online classes, contact with your fellow students, links and written information to support your learning. With Zoom you have your materials and tools with you throughout the course allowing you to work at your own pace and experiment freely between lessons.

  • Level: Beginner to Intermediate. If you are a complete newbie to relief printmaking contact the instructor for pre-course information and a few quick exercises.
  • You get to choose which relief carving material and tools, inks and papers you prefer all according to your prior knowledge, equipment, physical abilities and budget. You will be sent a detailed materials list, giving a range of price options and suggestions. Budget $70 for a basic starter kit with everything included to make two reduction prints, one tester and one final.
