Let's cook up some art in the kitchen. Julia Nelson will introduce you to several DIY art projects you can do probably right now with a minimal amount of materials. You will learn about Paper Casting, Marbleizing, and painting with Spices. Julia will also provide links and suggestions for further exploration on your own if you like.
- Supply list for EACH person:
- One rubber stamp or small silicone candy mold
- One water color brush (round), at least size 6 or several cotton swabs
- Several sheets (5) of 9 by 12" multi-media paper/drawing paper or watercolor paper
- PLUS
- Supply list for EVERYONE in your group:
- Vegetable oil (any kind)
- Food coloring (any kind)
- Napkins, paper towels, at least 5 (facial tissues work too)
- Rice flour (you may use white glue if you like)
- Plastic dishes to hold spice paint (small, bottle cap size)
- Small fork or whisk
- One coffee mug
- Large baking dish for marbleizing
- Spices (Turmeric, paprika work very well)
- Pencil or sharpie marker
