Introduction to Gelliplate Printmaking
Adult Class | This program is completed
Learn the basics of gelliplate printmaking in this online Zoom class. Create colorful, patterned and textured monoprints that can be used for journaling, collaging, book-making, mixed media projects or as stand-alone works of art. Learn basic color theory and composition and how to create your own stencils, masks and patternmaking tools from household materials. No previous printmaking experience is necessary with this fun, explorative, versatile and simple technique that doesn’t require a printing press – results are immediate and addictive!
- NOTE: For those who would like to continue exploring gelliplate printing this class extends into a second 3 week class: What to do with all those gelliprints? Turn them into your own art journal!
- We have created “student tool kits” that you can borrow from the Art Alliance to make it possible to work from home [brayer, 5” x 7” gelliplate and a quantity of paper]. You will need to supply your own acrylic paints. As soon as you sign up for the course you’ll receive a list of materials you can start gathering and making from home and suggestions where to easily, cheaply and safely purchase your acrylic paint.
