Join Award-Winning Artist, Susan Nicholas Gephart in an upbeat class discovering how to see beyond the obvious within the landscape or subject of your choice. Learn how to use your photos, sketches, and studies for inspiration to create a finished studio painting. This class welcomes the beginner, and will enrich and challenge the experienced painter.

Susan has been working in pastels since the 1980's, and has a BFA from Penn State University. She is a demonstrator for Sennelier and Jack Richeson art supplies, and has a Signature set of Richeson Hand-Rolled Soft Pastels. Each class will include a short inspirational demonstration designed to kick-start you into the creative spirit and explore new possibilities. Classes will include personal support by email.

Susan's deep appreciation of the earth is seen in her colorful, impressionistic pastels and oils, mostly painted "Plein Air." Susan is a Signature member and past president of the Central PA Pastel Society, a Juried Associate member The Pastel Society of America, has shown in The Art of the State of Pennsylvania, won Best of Show in The Central Festival of the Arts Images, and is in the permanent collections of The Penn Stater Conference Center, Penn College, Lock Haven University, and The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. Susan instructs privately at Nicholas Studios in Bellefonte and organizes Hameau Farm Studio Artist Retreats.
