Scott McMahon and Ahmed Salvador have been collaborating on various photographic projects for 20 years. Classmates at The University of the Arts, and thereafter rarely in the same place for long, they relied on brief moments and, or the mail to continue exploring the language of traditional photography. Usually eschewing lenses and the figurative concept of taking pictures, they steadfastly produced images in line with the literal use of the word, 'Photography' or 'Writing with light'. From recording the image of firefly light directly onto film, mailing back and forth 'photo letters', or exploding toy cap gun bursts directly onto 16mm film, they have created a way to enhance ancient methods that the digital era cannot duplicate.
