The Art and Design of Sports Uniforms with Peter Capolino
Lecture | This program is completed
In celebration of the Phillies 2014 home season opening, join us for a special conversation devoted to the art and design of baseball uniforms. Peter Capolino, a long time Fleisher supporter, will weave the lore of uniform changes over time, with historical design insights into the graphics, colors, and even font choices.
Learn how the textile industry, and fabrics have evolved, since the beginnings of baseball history, as he traces the Phillies' uniforms from 1883 to the 1992 debut of their present-day uniforms. His talk will be illustrated with images and examples of authentic replicas in period wool flannel, along with a few originals.
Join us for this journey through baseball uniform history, brought to life with Capolino’s passion for sports, and his commitment to sporting history.
